DESIGN PROCESS: At the beginning of this project, I researched the competitive market for coffee ordering and delivery apps. Many existing platforms focus on individual features such as drink customization, delivery services, or reward systems, but few combine all of these elements in one cohesive experience. Through this research, I identified an opportunity to create a more streamlined solution. BeanBolt was designed to bring together drink customization, easy reordering, delivery tracking, and rewards into one convenient coffee delivery app.
DESIGN PROCESS:To better understand our target audience, we developed user personas representing individuals with different forms of visual impairment, including color blindness (deuteranomaly) and dyslexia. These personas helped guide design decisions by highlighting accessibility needs such as clear typography, strong contrast, simplified layouts, and intuitive navigation. Designing with these users in mind ensured the BeanBolt app would be more accessible and inclusive for people with varying levels of vision loss.
RESULTS: As a result of our research and testing, we developed an interface that prioritizes accessibility and clarity. The final design includes clear, readable typography, structured user journeys, and a set of icons and illustrations designed for easy recognition. All visual elements were reviewed to ensure they meet ADA accessibility guidelines, creating a more inclusive and user-friendly experience for individuals with visual impairments.
