CLIENT: Swiss Design Magazine
ROLE: Graphic Designer
BACKGROUND: Swiss Design Magazine was a publication created for a university assignment focused on exploring a historical graphic design movement. For this project, I chose to highlight Swiss Design, a movement known for its grid-based layouts, clean typography, and emphasis on clarity and order. The goal was to research the movement and translate its core visual principles into a fully designed editorial magazine.

DESIGN APPROACH: The magazine was designed using key principles of Swiss Design, including structured grid systems, strong typographic hierarchy, and minimal visual elements. Sans-serif typography and generous white space were used to create clarity and balance throughout the spreads while maintaining the movement’s modern and functional aesthetic.
PROCESS: I began by researching the history of Swiss Design and studying influential designers associated with the movement. Using this research, I developed a grid-based layout system to organize editorial content and imagery. I then designed multiple spreads that emphasized alignment, readability, and visual rhythm while reflecting the clean and structured qualities of Swiss Design.

RESULTS: The final magazine successfully translated the visual language of Swiss Design into a contemporary editorial format. Through the use of grids, typography, and minimal composition, the publication communicates the history and impact of the movement while demonstrating its timeless influence on modern graphic design.
